Substrate: Sand, ordinary beach sand or equiv.Easy to install (just peel and stick), puts out a very good amount of heat (depends greatly on type of substrate, how deep, etc.), and safe to use (you can't knock it over, spill anything on it, etc.), thin thin thin...and did I mention thin? It does take some time to reach its full/hottest potential so don't get frustrated if it doesn't seem like it's working after just a couple minutes...mine took about 2-3 hours to completely heat up the substrate and the uth. To be used ONLY on glass terrariums, and you MUST use the provided tank stand-offs to allow air flow under the tank...or provide a suitable alternative for saftely purposes. Not to be used where water sits in tank, also avoid touching glass with cool water once heated...will damage tank!
